Use of long‐acting aripiprazole increased time to first hospitalization compared with usual care in young‐adult patients with early‐phase schizophrenia, a randomized trial has found. The findings suggest that long‐acting injectable (LAI) antipsychotics should receive more consideration as a treatment option in early stages of schizophrenia, the researchers concluded. Study results were published online July 15, 2020, in JAMA Psychiatry .
