Men with pedophilic disorder who received injections of the gonadotropin‐releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist degarelix acetate showed a significantly reduced risk score for committing child sexual abuse at 2 weeks, a placebo‐controlled trial has found. The results indicate potential for using GnRH antagonists as a rapidly acting preventive intervention for men with pedophilic disorder.
