A meta‐analysis examining 20 antipsychotic medications used in the acute treatment of schizophrenia has found evidence that licensed doses for some of the drugs are higher or lower than the likely maximum effective dose of the medications. The dose‐response analysis offers important guidance for clinicians treating schizophrenia, according to study authors. Results were published online Dec. 16, 2019, in the American Journal of Psychiatry .
