Sixteen‐year‐old girls who used oral contraceptives reported more concurrent depressive symptoms than nonusers of contraceptives in the same age group, a population‐based study in the Netherlands has found. The 16‐year‐olds were the only group in the study of young women ages 16 to 25 in which oral contraceptive use was associated with concurrent depressive symptoms, the researchers reported.
