A cohort study of adolescents and young adults with attention‐deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) has concluded that risk of a new diagnosis of psychosis is greater with use of amphetamine than with use of methylphenidate. The researchers suggested that differences in the biological mechanisms of the two drugs might explain the difference in risk of psychosis.
