The common use of medications with anticholinergic properties has raised concerns regarding their safety profile, especially in the elderly. One such concern is the risk of antipsychotic‐associated exacerbation of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in patients with Alzheimer's disease, with antipsychotics often prescribed in this patient group for management of the behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia.
