Small increase in dose of varenicline boosts smoking abstinence

Among a group of smokers who reduced their smoking but did not quit under a standard regimen of varenicline treatment, an increase in the dose improved the chance of achieving total abstinence, a new study has found. The higher dose led to improved results without exacerbating adverse effects, the researchers reported.
