Administration of the beta‐adrenergic blocker propranolol in six weekly sessions prior to reactivation of a traumatic memory was more effective than placebo in reducing symptoms of post‐traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in adults, a study has found. Significant improvements were seen in both patient‐ and clinician‐rated measures of PTSD symptoms, the researchers reported.
