The selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) have a good efficacy and safety profile for most patients with depression. However, some patients with depression present with co‐existing psychotic symptoms, and antipsychotic drugs are commonly prescribed with SSRIs to improve clinical response.
