Review suggests anti‐cytokine treatment can improve treatment‐resistant depression

A review and meta‐analysis of 20 studies, including seven randomized controlled trials, has concluded that anti‐cytokine therapy significantly improves depressive symptoms and could be particularly effective for individuals with treatment‐resistant depression and increased inflammation. Results of the review were published online Oct. 18, 2016 in Molecular Psychiatry .
