A review and meta‐analysis encompassing 82 randomized controlled trials has found that adding an antidepressant to antipsychotic treatment for schizophrenia generated benefits on a number of symptoms and quality‐of‐life indicators, although effect sizes were small. The analysis also found that adjunctive antidepressants did not exacerbate psychosis or adverse events. Results were published online June 10 in the American Journal of Psychiatry .
