From roots of Daphne pupyracea Wall, two new diterpene esters, Daphne factors P 1 and P 2 , were isolated. Both are esters of the polyfunctional daphnane type: P 1 is the 9,13,14‐orthobenzoate‐12‐(2E,4E,6E‐decatrienoate) of 6a,7a‐epoxy‐5β, l2β‐dihydroxyresiniferonol. P 2 is structurally nearly identical with P 1 , the only difference is located in the parent alcohol moiety: that of P 1 carries an olefinic Δ 1,2 unsaturation whereas P 1 exhibits the 1,2α‐dihydro partial structure.
