A. satureioides is reported to have antiinflammatory activity after oral and topical administration. The use of a concentrated extract as the raw material for the preparation of a plastic pharmaceutical dosage form is examined. Loss on drying, chromatographic evaluation of the major constituents and quantitative assay of quercetin were found to be adequate for characterizing the extract.
