Studies were made on the effects of baicalein (5,6,7‐trihydroxyflavone) on leukotriene C 4 (LTC 4 ) biosynthesis by calcium ionophore A 23187 in human lymphocytes. Baicalein inhibited calcium ionophore‐induced LTC 4 biosynthesis in human lymphocytes. The concentration of baicalein required for 50% inhibition (IC 50 ) of LTC 4 formation was 4.3 × 10 −7 M.
