Topological materials present unprecedented opportunities for the functionalization of advanced concepts employed in the description of quantum matter. Ultrafast dynamics studies of these materials, based on the use of light pulses with duration of the order of the femtosecond, make it possible to investigate basic questions concerning the out‐of‐equilibrium behavior of Dirac and Weyl fermions, as well as to explore novel opportunities for their possible technological applications. An overview is presented of the main experimental results and trends in the domain.
