The results on crystallization and investigation of the luminescent properties of a new prospective ceramic phosphor based on the Ce 3+ doped Ca 2 YMgScSi 3 O 12 silicate garnet are presented for the first time in this work. The luminescent properties of Ca 2 YMgScSi 3 O 12 :Ce were compared with the properties of the reference Ca 3 Sc 2 Si 3 O 12 :Ce ceramic sample. Without any doubt, the results of this research can be suitable for the development of a new generation of white converters based on the Ca 2+ –Si 4+ garnet compounds.
