Dielectric tunability in [001] and [110] oriented Na 0.5 Bi 0.5 TiO 3 –5.6%BaTiO 3 crystals was investigated as functions of temperature and frequency. A tunability of the dielectric constant as high as 58% and 46% was obtained at room temperature under an electric field of E = 20 kV/cm applied along [001] and [110]. Our findings demonstrate that Na 0.5 Bi 0.5 TiO 3 –5.6%BaTiO 3 crystals are potential voltage‐tunable materials. (© 2012 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
