Planar and channel waveguides were fabricatied in periodically poled lithium niobate crystals by 6 MeV O‐ion implantation. Single‐pass second harmonic generation was carried out. A conversion efficiency of 34.5%/(W · cm 2 ) was achieved in the channel waveguide, and 1.11 mW second harmonic light at 492.5 nm was generated. (© 2012 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
