The anisotropy of the magnetization of MnAs 1− x Sb x single crystals is investigated in the temperature range 4.2 K < T < 600 K, for fields up to 0.6 T and concentrations x = 1, 0.5, and 0.1. The first spin reorientation temperature of MnSb, T s1 = 270 K, is connected with the influence of the thermal expansion on the local anisotropy constants; the second spin reorientation at T s2 = 520 K is also due to volume expansion, but after the displacement disorder transition at T d = 458 K has occurred. Anomalies of the angular dependence of the magnetization and nonlinear magnetization versus field curves along the hard axis are related to the occurrence of an easy cone.
