Expressions for the displacement and stress fields of a sinusoidal edge dislocation in an infinitely extended isotropic medium are given. It is suggested that information on the physical properties of non‐planar cracks propagating along 〈110〉 in intermetallics with cubic structures may be obtained by studying particular cracks which consist of continuous distributions of sinusoidal edge dislocations perpendicular to 〈110〉 with infinitesimal Burgers vectors.
