Resonant tunneling is studied theoretically in symmetrical rectangular triple‐barrier structures composed of triple barriers and C‐type double‐wells which are coupled through a central thin barrier. Analytical expressions for the transmission coefficient and the resonance conditions are derived for the first time. Wave functions of an electron at the resonance level are examined and the confining phenomena are studied.
