With the help of optical loss spectra (OLS), energy loss spectra (ELS), and the dependence of stimulated electron emission on the energy of slow exciting electrons (ESEL), the true plasmon energies in CaSO 4 (13.5, 18.1,20.9 eV) are obtained and the energy gap is confirmed (12 eV). The subzones in the valence band where plasma oscillations occur are determined, as well as the number of electrons in one plasmon. The band structure for CaSO 4 is constructed and interband transitions are interpreted. From the data of CaSO 4 the plasmon energies, the energy gaps, etc. for the Sr, Ba, Pb sulphates are calculated.
