Abstract The problem of universality and limitation of the local‐field conception in modern theory of many‐particle interacting systems is considered on the example of the calculation of momentum distribution. On the basis of the variational derivative δG(q, v)/δϵ k (where G(q, v) is the dynamic local‐field correction function, E k = h 2 k 2 /2m) the momentum distribution in the model of the electron liquid in a wide region of the coupling parameter r s is investigated.
