The Hartree interaction in quasi‐2D systems (i.e. the Coulomb excitations with zero momentum transfer) is rederived without introducing any particular cut‐off to withdraw the divergences arising from the long‐range character of the Coulomb potential. It is shown that the remaining finite part is indeed independent of the cut‐off as physically expected.
