Surface parametric (quasi‐Cherenkov) optical radiation of a relativistic charged particle, moving close to the surface of a spatially periodic medium, is considered. The spectral‐angular distribution and polarization characteristics of the radiation are found. The possibility of experimental observation of the radiation described is discussed.
