Defects of crystalline structures are potential pinning centres of the magnetic vortex dots (“pancake vortices”) within strongly anisotropic high‐ T c superconductors. The peculiarity of the interaction between the pancake vortex and various defects is analyzed and the values of the elementary pinning potential, U p , and that of the critical current density, J c , are estimated.
