Theoretical calculations are carried out for the slow diffusion of mercury in cadmium telluride. Single vacancy, single interstitial, and divacancy mechanisms are tried. The results suggest that the most possible mechanism for Hg diffusion in CdTe is the single vacancy mechanism.
