The spectrum of the presurface exciton localized on the media‐parting border is found with the help of a self‐consistent method. The dependence of the spectrum on the effective mass component of the electron and hole correlation is obtained for arbitrary correlations between the permittivity values of the contacting crystals. The exciton spectrum can be described by three models depending on the static and dynamic characteristics of the contacting crystals: 1. the three‐dimensional exciton model, 2. the presurface exciton model, and 3. the model of electron and hole bound to their electrostatic images.
