The valence transition at finite temperature in mixed valence (MV) systems is investigated using the extended Falicov‐Kimball (F‐K) model with Coulomb f – f and the electron‐phonon (EP) interactions. The role of different interactions and the influence of temperature on the valence transition are studied. It is found that the lowering of temperature favours the transition. The results are compared with existing experimental findings.
