Investigation of the impurity‐induced core–valence luminescence (IICVL) in doped RbCl:Cs, SrCl 2 :Cs, and RbCaCl 3 :Cs crystals is made under pulsed X‐ray excitation (δ t ≈ 1 ns). It is shown that the spectral structure and emission intensity of IICVL is determined by the spatial structure of the nearest anion environment of the cesium ion. The model of an isolated emission centre (cluster [CsCl n ]) for the interpretation of the IICVL peculiarities is proposed.
