The low‐field longitudinal magnetoresistance in amorphous ribbons is measured. The contribution of “excess resistance” associated with the presence of the transverse domain walls is determined by transverse magnetoresistance measurements. The influence of the tensile and torsion stresses is discussed, taking into account the presence of the transverse domain walls and anomalous ferromagnetic anisotropy of the resistance.
