Abstract The theory of magnetostatic waves propagating along the domains is introduced. It is shown that only uniform‐surface and volume‐uniform waves may exist. In the case k x → 0 we obtain two FMR frequencies: the low‐frequency mode ω lf as a limiting case of volume‐uniform waves and the high‐frequency mode ω hf of uniform‐surface waves. Comparison with the theory of uniform resonance and experiment on barium ferrite platelets is carried out.
