Abstract The consistent theory of magnetic breakdown in metals taking into account the existence of spin and spin‐orbit interaction of conduction electrons is developed. The effective s‐matrix and probabilities for small orbits of “diangular” and “triangular” type are calculated. The magnetoresistance of magnetic breakdown linked networks with one‐dimensional topology is calculated for the case of coherent movement of electrons on the small orbit of the network. The double‐peaked structure of magnetoresistance oscillations for a simple hypothetical metal is obtained.
