A general method is given for the determination of multiphonon resonant Raman scattering (MPRRS) cross section when exciton degenerate states occur. The calculation is performed for exciton states with principal quantum number n = 2, when electron and hole effective masses are equal ( m e = m b ). The results obtained can explain the special characteristics of secondary radiation emission spectrum in InBr and InI. It is shown that the MPRRS theory can be constructed on the basis of a classical approach, as for n = 1.
