The optical transition of the polaron in Pd‐hydride is evidenced by both, classical and photopyroelectric spectroscopy. The results obtained from comparative studies on PdH 0.65 and PdD 0.65 are in agreement with the small polaron theory. The photopyroelectric spectroscopy reveals one of the main characteristics of the optical transition of the polaron: maximum phonon emission at the peak frequency.
