The macroscopic studies of the possible coexistence of antiferromagnetism (AF) with anisotropic high‐temperature superconductivity (SC) are reviewed. A modified Ginzburg‐Landau energy functional is presented. The temperature condition for such coexistence is estimated in terms of the GL coefficients for the uniform SC and AF. The derived equations with the appropriate boundary conditions are used to study the vortex structure and evaluate the first and second critical fields in the new materials. Applications and comparison with the available data are also presented.
