A Green function technique is developed to study the real and imaginary parts of the dielectric function ε( k , E ) for KDP‐type ferroelectrics below and above T c . The dependence of the numerically calculated ε( k , E ) on energy E and temperature T is discussed. Using the Kramers‐Kronig analysis the refractive index n , the absorption index χ and reflectivity R are obtained for T = 120 and 300 K and are found to be in very good agreement with the experimental data for KDP.
