It is shown that in the plane square lattice the most stable self‐localized states are of quasi‐one‐dimensional character. This may serve to substantiate the applicability of a quasi‐one‐dimensional bisoliton model of high‐temperature superconductors containing square plane layers of alternating copper and oxygen ions.
