The one‐dimensional motion of a particle in the field of the Pöschl‐Teller asymmetric potential well is considered. It is shown that at positive energies the transparency effect is suppressed, as compared to the symmetric well case. The reflection coefficient increases with the well asymmetry, while at high energies its exponential decrease versus energy is replaced by a power‐like dependence. The results can be useful to those concerned with particle channeling in complex crystals.
