Starting with neutral hard spheres the entropy of vaporisation is calculated after mixing and charging them. The entropy contribution in overcoming the attraction is computed by the use of a potential function and the principle that the total entropy is a sum of the contributions from hard spheres and Coulomb interactions. The theoretical results are found to be in very good agreement with experiment except for lithium salts.
