In the frames of the field theoretical approach an analytical expression for the dielectric permeability tensor of ionic dielectric crystals, containing the contributions of higher multipole momenta, is obtained, taking into account the spatial dispersion. The expression for the tensor describing optical activity is separated; its analysis is performed. The Hubbard operator formalism and the two‐time Green's function method are used.
