Precision reflectivity spectra of the tetragonal ZnP 2 , CdP 2 for E ∥ c , E ⟂ c and monoclinic ZnP 2 for E ∥ a , E ∥ b , E ∥ c are investigated at 80 and 293 K. New reflectivity structures are observed including the exciton peaks in the monoclinnic ZnP 2 . The thermoreflectivity spectra of CdP 2 are obtained at 193 K. The band structure of the tetragonal ZnP 2 and CdP 2 and CdP 2 is calculated using the pseudopotential method at the symmetrical points T, Z, A, M, R. A comparison of the reflectivity data with the results of the ZnP 2 band structure is made.
