Results for the phonon dispersion curves along the [ζ00], [ζζ0], [ζζζ], symmetry directions and the Debye characteristic temperatures for Ne, Ar, Kr, and Xe rare gas solids are obtained on the basis of a five‐parameter non‐central force model. These results are compared with the experimental values with remarkable success. The Cauchy discrepancy is also explained on the basis of the model.
