By frequency momentum analysis, the plasmon dispersion of crystalline trans‐polyacetylene is calculated for q parallel and perpendicular to the chains. Both experimentally observed features: linear dispersion at medium q , and a drop for small q , are obtained. It is suggested that the latter feature is much more pronounced for q perpendicular to the chains (not investigated experimentally) than parallel.
