Abstract The equivalence of different expressions for the force constant of a bijellic interface is shown. Within the local density approximation of the universal functional, G [ n ], the force constant can be expressed solely in terms of bulk quantities. The Thomas‐Fermi‐Dirac approximation is applied and the results are compared with other ones obtained recently within the gradient expansion method.
