A theory is developed of absorption saturation on filling the subbands appearing in quantum wells. It is shown that the bleaching spectrum of quantum‐size heterostructures has a resonant, sawtooth shape. The transformation of nonlinear absorption spectra is analyzed depending on the layer thickness, temperature, excitation power, and the character of optical transitions between the electronic states in the quantum wells.
