To study the texture dependence of the coercivity of polycrystalline materials a model is considered taking into account coherent rotational processes and Bloch wall jumps simultaneously but neglecting a magnetic coupling between the identical grains. The texture is described by an one‐parametric distribution function. Using this model the magnetization coercivity H c and the remanence coercivity H R are calculated. Especially the upper limits of H c and H R are investigated. It follows that for technically attainable degrees of alignment (characterized by M R ≦ 0.98 M S ) a maximum value of H c ≈ 0.677 H A cannot be exceeded.
