Heat capacity, inelastic incoherent neutron scattering and neutron diffraction experiments are performed for 4,4′‐difluorobiphenyl. The heat capacity is measured between 4.2 and 100 K using the adiabatic calorimetry technique. An interpretation of the temperature dependence of the heat capacity in terms of spectral characteristic is given. The results are finally compared with those of the isostructural crystalline biphenyl.
