Using the method of difference equations the bound states of excitations in a linear chain are investigated. It is possible to obtain solutions of the partial difference equations and the energy of “biphonons” by a separation ansatz. The method of power series expansion is not so successful. The spectrum of the states with two phonons in two coupled linear chains (as a model of the system film‐substrate) is investigated additionally.
