Using many‐particle Green's function techniques the influence of disorder on the transition temperature is investigated theoretically. Depending on the character of the pair‐correlation function of the random potential T c , can both, decrease and increase with increasing disorder. The theory is applied to a recently proposed BCS mechanism for high‐ T c , superconductivity. For a constant pair‐correlation function an additional increase of T c up to 3 K is obtained.
